To decide the best of the year oil was the most objective of the judges; the synthesis of the results of the chemical analysis and the organoleptic (Panel Test) conducted by the Group Panel Association A.PR.OL. Grosseto. The desire to raise more and more evaluation standards has prompted the organizers to postpone, than in the past, the date of award of the selection to last until the oil production of deposit thus allowing a more accurate opinion of the actual quality organoleptic characteristics of the products in the race.
The companies represented in the race these municipalities: Castiglione della Pescaia, Civitella Paganico, Follonica, Gavorrano, Massa Marittima, Monterotondo Maritime, Roccastrada, Scarlino.
The products of the 43 participating companies were divided into four different sections: oils with fruity intensity “light”; oils intensity “average”, oil intensity “Intense” and the last section is reserved for Crushers.
